Default Puzzle Style T-Shirt Quilt

I recently finished this quilt for a friend who's daughter is going off to college. These t-shirt quilts are a lot more fun than I thought they would be! I put a few of the spare blocks on the back, and fmq'd feathers, swirls, and a whole bunch of other fun stuff. One thing I learned for future t-shirt quilts, is to not put a sticky graphic t-shirt (like the large pink and blue one at the bottom) on the back if you're planning to free-motion quilt. It does not like to slide smoothly on the bed of the machine and is a pain in the you-know-what. Maybe it would work okay on a long-arm, but I quilt on my domestic without a frame. It is a long twin, 64 x 96"

Thanks for looking, and have a beautiful day!

What a fun quilt! And thanks for the tip, although I can't imagine ever saving up enough t-shirts for a quilt.

Love your t-shirt quilt. The colors are great. The quilting really compliments the quilt. I'm still trying to get the t-shirts off my granddaughter's back in order to make one for her!
