Default QOV for BIL

Made my first QOV for my husband's brother who is a Vietnam vet. He was in the Seabees and served two tours in Vietnam. The Log Cabin pattern is from the QOV website. I used Quilters Dream wool batting and loved working with it and how nicely it quilted up. I quilt on my DSM and this was my first time doing feathers. Probably not a good idea for first time feathers but I had a "vision". Other than those feathers which are only on the lighter blocks, I really enjoyed making this quilt. The badges that are in the second picture I found on the Seabee museum website, plus another one that I put on the label. They represent his battalion number, Vietnam Seabee vet and his port in CA. I did not end up putting the badges where they are, it was a trial run. They are on the corners of the border. Sorry the pics are sideways.

Outstanding. I love everything about it--the fabrics, the design, your added creativity, and especially the love and thoughtfulness for a deserving veteran. I'm sure your BIL will cherish it.
