    QOV for retiring officer

This is for a dear friend who will be retiring soon from the Canadian Armed Forces. He has dedicated
over 35 years of service and sacrificed much time with his family to proudly serve his country.

Quilt design was inspired by Debbie Mum’s Apples and Bars quilt. I swapped out appliquéd apples in the setting triangles for Big Stitched maple leaves in #8 Perle cotton.

Quilt is simply quilted with diagonal serpentine lines with my walking foot on my domestic sewing machine.

I love it and so will your dear friend!
A quilt is like a good life. It's full of mistakes, but, in the end, it looks pretty good.

    OhCanada .... Perfectly Oh Canadian!
The maple leaves are a perfect twist on the original pattern.
Certainly a nice tribute to one of our retiring armed forces members.

Curious here ... did you go with a Canadian print for the backing?

It's Perfect. Nothing like a QOV for a veteran, or even active duty. My QOV sewing group met today. We always have a good time.

I loved your accolade that you introduced your quilt with. My husband served with the United States Navy for 30 yrs. I think your friend will be thrilled with your handsome quilt.
