Thanks to everyone for your nice comments! I made this quilt from a pattern called "Lotus Leaf Squared" in a book by Christine Barnes, "The Quilter's Color Club."
The finished squares are 12". Make a 12" square in courthouse steps design with each round done in same fabric. There are 2 different squares, one has 1st round in a light value color, 2nd medium and 3rd dark. The other square has values reversed. Then squares are quartered and new squares sewn together consisting of 4 different quarters in each.
It was an interesting and fun pattern to create!

I don't think it is too busy at all--it is fine--very nice. So glad she likes it as many of us do as well!
