I wish I could send you pictures but my casserole carriers are too large so I can only send the end with the spoon through it. Anyway, I am buying placemats at Big Lots that are already quilted and look like applique for $3.00. I am cutting a piece of double quilted fabric in a matching color the same size as the placemat. I serge around the quilted fabric so it will have finished edges. Then I put the two buttonholes in each piece, using the free buttonhole design for the casserole carriers that someone posted free on this website. Then I add straps, sewing them first to the bottom piece. Then I sew the two fabric rectangles together on three sides and put a wooden spoon through the two buttonholes to hold it together and I am finished. Cute as can be.
