Adorable quilt, my first big quilts were blue and yellow boat quilts, one each for my two sons. I did a Nova Scotia Bluenose pattern in the middle with a frame, then 4"blocks all around, more rows at the top and bottom to make it longer, more borders and a dark blue binding. I always start the binding at the back so the hand stitches show on the front, especially nice if it's hand quilted.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the pattern. Since we are all sailors at my house, this one would fit in everywhere (except for the fact that we do not have any yellow or blue in the house). Who cares?
It would even be cool to have on board our sailboat. Is there a name for this pattern or did you get creative and make it up.
Hope that you don't mind, but someday I will copy it and make one also. It is gorgeous!
