Yes, it does to me. It honestly made me a tad bit dizzy, but it's still beautiful!

beautiful- but the fabrics don't look like any i've seen from that time period= wonder where it came from.
there are some pretty expensive quilts out there- if i had the $$ to blow i would look into that one- it is so beautiful- but i would want some documentation---the fabrics just don't seem like 1840's fabrics - which tended to be darker---turkey reds, indigo's- rust's...
but that could just be the period fabrics in the U.S. maybe other parts of the world had different fabrics back then with lighter colors.

quilts don't have to be old to be worth lots- i've made 2 quilts that appraised for alot---as in $3700 for one- and $5600 for the other :)
of course-that is just an appraisal- for insurance purposes- it does not mean i could ever sell either of them for anything close to that.

I like how the center star looks likes it is jumping out at you! Beautiful quilt!

The old quilts like this one are the true works of art. They are cut out with scissors and probably a newspaper pattern. It's amazing! Thanks for sharing but I agree, it's a bit pricey.

All the detail, and a great design. It would be nice to know more about it's history and about the quilter.
