Quilt to be auctioned for Joy Ranch
#11
It is a beautiful quilt, i think you would make more money with a raffle than an auction. We had an auction on a quilt and it was worth a lot, lot more that what the person got it for. Our quilt guild makes one every year and raffle it off for our cost of making charity quilts and for the senior center. Last year we sold over $1300 tickets. That is the way to go.......

Thank you everyone. The auction is done annually at this huge meeting for the state. Our little church couldn't afford to give any money but the quilts actually get quite a bit of money in the auctions. Raffling is best, but oh well. It has been fun to do but I have about 30 hours in machine quilting it now. LOL I am glad I am practicing my FMQ.

When we picked out the colors, we wanted something hip and new and a little oriental, but that is the problem with picking out colors, it looks a little old fashioned, I suppose because of the sampler part of it. I like the colors too, except not as fond of the yellow as the others.

It is 10 o'clock on a Friday night, and I finally finished quilting the quilt. Still have the binding to do, but am thinking of giving it to someone else to finish....lol. It is such a relief to be done.
