What a lovely finish and gift...the fabrics give it a real cozy feel. Great job.

I really like the scale of your lattice quilt. Your basting looks great. I don't see any wrinkles or puckers. I'd call it a success.

I think you are right! I’ve only been quilting for about 2 years so consider myself a beginner still. Heck I’m still trying to get a consistent 12 1/2” block. And color play! Oh my! I rearranged these lattice blocks 20 times trying to figure out how to get the garden lattice feel to it. So simple works for me!

Also, story behind the story. My friend’s grandma was a very religious, spiritual woman. She was also a Quilter. She said God called out to her to make a quilt for someone particular. For her, quilting was spiritual, and she prayed as she quilted. She’d knock on strangers’s doors and say, “I was told you need this. God Bless.” Recently, I told my friend I’d love to see some of her Grandma’s quilts and was surprised when my friend said, “I don’t have any.” Now, they had a very loving relationship, but I guess God didn’t tell Grandma Owens to make her granddaughter a quilt. So when my friend asked me to make her a quilt, I intuited she wanted a quilt to cuddle under. So simple was good.

What a nice friend you are to finally give her a quilt of her own.
