    Quilt from class #2

This is my third quilt but the second one from taking classes. The second class taught us different kinds of blocks to make a "Sampler Quilt". I did try the stitch-in-the-ditch along the sashes for my quilting. This will go to my second grandson, Taylor. I did a little different from the class with the binding. Hope you enjoy! Very nice work for just your 3rd quilt. I love sampler quilts because there are so many nice blocks I can never decide what one to use. Can you tell me how big an individual block is? Thanks, Sue

Black & white & red all over! I love this quilt! And I know your DGS will, too! The colors are perfect! Aren;t samplers fun to do? The very first quilting class I took (back in the Stone Age) was a sampler class & I think I'd like to revisit that book & technique with perhaps some repro fabric this time. Thanks for showing this to us -- it's inspiring!

Wow that turned out great! black/white/red quilts are among my faves (besides batiks and Asian quilts) ... Love what you did with the blocks. Your grandson is gonna be so happy with this quilt.

Curious, what size it is? Looks BIG

The quilt is 67" by 83". I wasn't shooting for a specific size just big enough to lay with on a couch. The blocks are 6" finshed squares with 2" sashing. Borders are 8" mitered.

What a beauty for your third quilt. You should be very proud of yourself, and I'm sure your grandson will enjoy the quilt for many years to come.
