Hello Everyone, I've recently joined and have been posting pictures on the thread about vintage machines. I found this site through Youtube, where I have posted three videos (the channel is called Muvandfarve) showing how to use old machines. I pieced this quilt on the 28K shown on two of the Youtube videos and which was manufactured in 1897. The panel in the centre is hand applique using blanket stitch in stranded cotton. The quilting was done at the quilt shop on a long arm machine.

I hope you like it. If anyone makes their own version in different colours I'd love to see the pictures!

Beautiful quilt, someone on this forum posted a question on the attraction of vintage sewing machines, you can tell her that without a doubt they are made so much better than modern machines, they run so smoothly and their stitch is unsurpassable, how do I know ;)

I own two and one very expensive Elna 7200 and my favourite is my Singer Capri circa 1950s' which cost me £50!

I love it and I knew you had to be in the UK because you did it on a 3/4 treadle. Those are extremely rare here in the US and if I could find one I would be tickled pink!

I think you did a wonderful job and I would love to have that peice of living history in my home any day!!
