Hey - just want to post a couple of pics of the quilt I was making for my friend in Washington State. Jacquemoe did the quilting for me. My friend was VERY surprised. This is a split 9 patch - 4 corners the same material, the 4 middle outside blocks the same material - and the darker fabric was in the middle space. This way, I could make the 1 way material all lie the same direction when pieced.

Thank you all so much for your compliments - Karen really was pleased.

She makes the old style lamp shades - ie 30's and earlier. That was why I went with a more old fashioned appearance. She is re-doing one room as "a girl room" and will do crafts etc in there. She plans on having a day bed and will go there to read/etc. She can hardly wait to get the new bed in and will use the quilt in there as well as in the living room - but it will hang out in the girl room over summers.

It's a beautiful quilt. I like your unusual way to set together a split 9 patch.

Congratulations to both of your, a match made in heaven I would say. What a great result., with such thought for where the quilt will live too!! :D

Jacque you really are coming along great with your quilting!! :D

I think the colours are lovely, and I like the movement in the quilt, and whats good is that it looks like a simple design, with lots of effect - gotta be good in my book!!!! :D :D
