I was inspired by RVQuilter's landscapes and decided to try a waterscape to go on the back of one of my aquariums rather than the plastic sheet you can buy. For totally winging it I think it came out pretty good. Forgot to "measure twice cut once" though so it's about 4 inches too long but easily fixed.

This is really a neat idea! And it gives the fish something neat to look at. Good job. :-)

I think you did a great job! Are the fish swimming happier? I know they notice such things. I saw NEMO! :-)

What a clever idea you have there, and beautiful workmenship. Great job. Must share your idea with one of my fellow quilters from the Senior Center.

    Nice.

Now is that on the inside or the outside of the aquarium?

Nice Ryukins. Is that a bushy nose plecostimus? If not... it's gonna get real big. *L*

    Ahhh...

Ryukins - the big diamond shaped goldfishes in your tank. I have one, his name is 'Robert'.

Plecostimus - that ugly looking little fish that keeps your tank glass clean.

and I was teasing about inside or out.

    It IS a great idea.

and thank you tim for teaching me what my pot bellied goldfish and my scum sucker are really called! I like my names better, they're easier to say!

I thought "Robert" was a pretty easy name to say myself.

having seen that gorgeous quilt you made them, they know their lives have been made complete. if they croak, it'll be with smiles on their little fishy faces.

either that or you need to make sure the new ones have some taste, for cryin' out loud.

yes, tim. i know fish don't have tongues.

    That' sad. Such pretty fish.

Check your water! Ammonia, nitrates, nitrites! Goldfish put a big load on any aquarium.

Did you sew around those little fish? With this type of quilting I am always amazed at the finished edges. zig zag, statin stitched, you know, being so small, I always wondered how it was done. How did you do it?
I have never seen a pictorial quilt except in pictures. From what I can gather they are never used but seen? ahhh Tim, how do you deal with us middle age women?

Seriously, you know what happened?? You gave them such a beautiful little quilt, & it filled their hearts with so much joy. They knew life would never be any better for them than at that moment... They had arrived... & so now it's time to go! Swim on into the after life to see if they can achieve such greatness once again!! :D

Ok, feed 'em to the pet croc out front... give 'em a proper send off!!
