I agree with you. Unless they have designed and trademarked a certain red hat, then I'd think any red hat would be okay to use.

You would be correct if I hadn't got the pattern idea for the hat from THEIR website....oops!

Did you COPY the pattern? or did you only get an idea from it? If you copied it normally you can sell it as long as you give credit. If the pattern only inspired you you didn't copy it so its yours. Many quilts made from patterns can be sold without copyright violation because the end product is not copyrightable. Which website did you use? Is there anywhere on there that says items made may not be sold. Selling the pattern is a whole nother issue and a copyright violation. Does the website say the pattern or idea is Trademarked or Patented?

I tend to agree with Rosyhf, although I am no lawyer. I have, however, seen a great many red hat quilts.
