    Quilt Show Today

A local guild holds a show every other year, and I attended today. I took loads and loads of pictures, and have decided I'd like to post them here in batches of 5-7 at a time, and let's have a little "Viewer's Choice" going in the comments below each batch. Whaddya say?

The theme of the show was "Maryland, My Maryland," which explains why you will see (later) some crabs, boats, black-eyed Susans, and other state symbols.

Here's Batch 1. I sure hope these are turned the right way. If not, sorry.

Lovely quilts and although some have more work, I am on a scrap quilt binge right now and I like the scrappy pieced hexagons on black.

I collected bird houses for years, and love birds and applique, so #6 it is!

All are beautiful, but I will have to vote for #4. I love the way the colors seem to glow on that one!

    Well, isn't that something!

I love birds, so I was drawn to the bird quilts, and I love bright colors and loops, so the scrappy on black was mesmerizing, but it was number 5 , the two color HST with applique that gets my top vote. Mainly because I can never picture myself having the patience to do it myself, and I could see excellence close-up.

Ohhh, more eye candy! Too hard to choose between the great scrappies so I will go with #10 Doxies.

Those are all so pretty that it's hard to pick a favorite. I will have to go with #1 for my first pick (I think...) Thanks for taking the pictures & sharing them with us.

I vote for #5 of the first batch for overall favorite. All those triangles, with the applique blocks, and only 2 colors (white and black?) makes for a striking quilt. Thanks for taking the photos and sharing.
