After I made a few tops with my different size strips that were too designed to fit with any color group, I got into my squares and triangles and picked out the wild ones. When I got to the larger 3.5 inch squares, I looked for some that were closer to solid colors to give some areas of actual color, so that the whole thing didn't just turn to mud! I wanted the Spools & Bobbins block so that the white could bring in a diagonal line and hopefully a bit of structure to all of those colorful scraps :)

thanks! One block is a sixteen patch and the other block is a Spools & Bobbins block. The small squares are two inches unset and the larger ones are 3.5 inches unset.

Thanks! Yes, maybe scraps isn't totally a fair description. They are almost all fabrics that have been used in other quilt tops, but I really don't put pieces less than about five inches or so back in my stash. I just cut them into strips and squares. I also always made bias binding, so there are always scraps from that cut off end. My scraps are all sorted by size and often by color and ready to use.

Oh, Linda, please don't stop posting your unique quilts. The pictures are one of the main reasons a lot of us spend so much time on QB. They are all simply wonderful and a real inspiration.
