Just began learning to quilt from my mom - these are my beginning attempts at piecing (I'm trying to drum up courage to do the backing, the batting, the actual quilting and the binding...eeek!)

Top pic is my very first try at a quilt top; it's waiting for all the backing/quilting/binding.

The second pic is the layout I chose for my log cabin (I've since sewn all the blocks together) and it's now waiting on a border or two.

    Thanks for looking!

(It actually lies nice and flat - it wasn't smoothed out on my floor very well!)

    Both are lovely!

Your are doing great for your first two quilts. Looks like your Mom is a great teacher & I like that pattern & quilt colors. Keep up the fantastic work.
