    I like black also but maybe a black with small white polka dots.

    Think I would use a black or medium grey. Trying to match another color would be difficult.

    I think you should look at a 1/4" red and white check.

    Thanks to 1 and all for your ideas to audition different fabrics for the sash strips. I am a slow poke but I will post the finished quilt. Keep those ideas coming. I appreciate your input.
