I am planning to get together with 2 others sisters for a week near Chicago this month to make different quilt tops.We usually bring each other a small gift or small quilted article.Today--i saw in a magazine a quilted bullentin board--to tak up pics of quilts to do or quilt ideas or memos. So because i am toooo cheap to buy one--i decided to make 2 myself.I bought 2 large pic frames and 2 quilted pillow shams(the kind that come with the cheap china quilts)I also bought some thin cork from Jo annes .I took the glass out of the frames and cut the back of the frame down just a hair so the material would wrap around it.I sprayed the back with spray glue and put the cork on it.Went on real easy. Then i added a thin layer of batting. Then i wrapped the quilted material around the back and hot glued the edges to the back.Oh--i painted the frames white. They turned out real cute!!The one in the magazine also had 4 small glass knobs on the bottom of the frame--but the frames i had didnt have enough edge for them and although they were cute--what would you hang on them--a measuring tape or something?? I also washed the shames before i used them.fun project and i am sure my sisters will love them!! oh--i forgot to mention i got yhe frames and shams from the thrift store.Cheap project!!

Hey, this is great! Your sisters will love them. They are pretty and practical.

If you want to make them more personal, consider hot gluing buttons or beads with letters (spell their names) and adding push pins with buttons glued on. (But I never know when to stop!)

What a cute bulletin board to keep in your sewing room/area! I could find all kinds of things to hang on the knobs...lol. Your sisters will love them.
