    Default Quilted with Sashiko Machine

I found a cheater clothe on clearance with tiny quilt blocks, that I cut into little squares and made into simple nine-patches. I boarded and backed it and bound it with nursery fabric given to me 2 years ago that must have been from the 1960's. Gosh it was ugly.... But the fun part was adding straight line quilting with 30wt thread from my new babylock sashiko machine I bought at the end of February. Pictures show the front (where it skips a stitch) and the back (where it is regular machine stitch...that I wish I had played with the tension more). I'll get better at it with practice.

Great job, I'm hoping in the next month to start using my machine. I bought it and then had a really rough year that I'm slowly getting over and I'm adding things to my list of things to do slowly. The other is my felting machine that I bought at the same time. I have several quilt tops that I want to do with the Sashiko, I haven't been able to get back into quilting yet but did get back into garment making and learning so much.

that is really neat, can you make the stitches shorter? It would really look like nice hand quilting if the stitches were shorter.I love sashiko on dark solids, can't wait to see what else you do.

Great idea and good use of the fabric. I like the big stitches.
