Quilted Travel Tray
#22
I did have to download the latest and greatest Adobe Reader, even though I have it and always do the updates. But it did open for me.
I think this is the one. http://www.quiltingboard.com/blocks-month-week-f9/1-november-2014-project-month-pattern-directions-discussion-t256151.h

heres what I did. Sewed 2 blocks face to face, leaving an opening to flip out....top stitched around, sealing that opening...then played with darts til I got the depth I wanted, pinned, sewed in those darts. Sewed the bottom to the same design ( hex) for a flat bottom and done! I'm guessing basically the same for square, rectangle shape....maybe batting?
Geri, your thread catcher is darling. The travel Tray is somewhat different in that it will lay flat in your suitcase as the corners are not stitched, they join with Velcro. Thank you for your idea on the thread...I just love these quilting boards everyone has good ideas.
