Wow, wow, wow!!! Beautifully done. The quilting design is awesome. So pretty in the border. Can't wait to see the whole thing!

Wow, as usual your quilting is superb. You've taken what could have been a ho-hum quilt and made it a work of art. Did you mark the top before loading it on the longarm?

Oh most definitely! I used a blue water soluble marker. I created freezer paper template 1/4 circles (used 4 layers of FP ironed together to make a sturdy marking template) to mark the outer lines for all the flying geese both the inner ones going around the circles and the little ones that fly along the border. I also marked off the division for the FG but did not mark out every goose just dots where triangle top needed to go so I had something to line my ruler up to. I also marked arrows so I wouldn't forget what direction and still forgot and ended up ripping two geese before I realized (yes, a bad word was involved!). The hook swirl design in the circle done in orange (and also done in the pieced circles in blue thread) I marked the circle and divided it into 8ths but freehanded the design from there. I used my circle template to quilt the outer line of it.
There is a big 8 pointed MC style star radiating from the center pieced circle, I marked the rays of it. You can see the very tips in the picture I posted. All the bubbles (the backfill) are not marked.
