I would machine quilt it in animals in either a gray or brown so the quilting would lay in the background so as not to take over the quilt

I thought of animals, too. Find a child's coloring book (do they make these any more??) with pictures of wild cats like the prints you've used and make your own patterns from the pictures.
Big Stitch lends itself to this feel, but as the prints are 'busy', be sure to use a contrasting thread color so your quilting design will stand out as part of the overall design. How I hate it when I've spent hours of labor hand-quilting and no one can see the stitchwork!

Kathy, the pattern I used is in the Aug. Sept issue of McCalls Quick Quilts mag. I'm sorry to say it's not mine to offer, but if you need the magaine, I'll be glad to send it to you. Pattern calls for 11 fat qtrs of various skin prints. And I even have extras of that if you need a few more as I got 1/2 yd. of each one. Just let me know if you need the mag.

This is funny. I get a ton of magazines. If I see something I like, I put a tag on that page and it gets stacked with the other magazines that have tagged. I just looked and I have that magazine and it has a tag on that very page. To many things to remember and too many projects that I want to do.

I don't know if you could do some variation of the animal paw panto or not on your DSM. Here is the link of where I got the panto. Look at it and see if you could make it work. The panto doesn't have any stops until the end of the row.

Swirls would be great and easy. Any time you have alot of straight lines, you want to accent with curves.

paw prints on each square--ilke 3toes +large pad--could do it in larger stitch--love the quilt

Kind of like the ones that were on the intro. to pink panther, years ago.

I love the quilt!! I think the big stitch would work on this...I think a leaf design might work as you often see pictures of the animals behind foliage....Great work!! :thumbup: :D

I would do an all over design because you really don't want it to take away from the quilt designs.

Paw prints would be cute, and you wouldn't have to cut the thread all the time. Just put the needle in between the top and backing and slide it to the the next place to quilt. (Does that make sense?)
