Quilts for French Doors
#24
I am also thinking of doing this...I think flannel would be wonderful batting....I bought a bunch from Joannes when the flannel was 2.99 a yard. I like using it for batting for placemats, ottoman mats, and thinking that it would be perfect for curtains. Your curtains look wonderful....so warm and inviting.

I used Warm and Natural. Since I was trying for some insulation from the heat and cold I thought that would be best. I also made these as quilt as you go and thought that I could butt the batting better when joing two sections together.

Warning! Using at stitch similar to the one I used takes a lot of time, but of course you wouldn't have to stitch around every section in a block as I did. I am going to make a set for my grandson't wife and I think I will use a running zig zag stitch which is like a slight curve back and forth. Goes so much faster.
