Default Quilts I entered in my first competition

DH pushed me to enter some of my quilts ina recent local Agricultural show that has sections for all kind of craftsincluding a section for quilts. I didn't thing I had a chance as I wascompeting in the open category against people with years more experience thanme (there is a category for quilters that have 2 years or less experience but Iam just over that).

We took the kids to the show and stopped in the craft pavilion and there wasone of my quilts with 2 ribbons and the other 2 quilts got third place ribbons.I still can't believe that not only did my quilt win the cotemporary categorybut it won overall as well, and my cube quilt got third in the same categoryand the mariners compass got third in the traditional quilts.

It was great to get the judges comments and things that I can improve on for mynext ones.

Without the encouragement and positive comments I have received here on the quiltingboard, I would never have even thought about entering, thanks everyone!!!!!

They are all really beautiful! I especially love the first one. I would love to see the fabric you made it from. It really is worthy of a ribbon. Great job!!

Your quilts are beautiful!! Can see why you won two ribbons on the first one. You did a great job with border, really adds so much to it.

You did a wonderful job on all three. And you say you've been quilting just over 2 years??? Good thing your DH talked you into entering. Like your tag line says, "The biggest risk is the one not taken" Keep up the good work!
