Racing the Storm Home - quilt finish
Good afternoon!
I just wanted to share with you a quilt that I finished up this week. It all started with some amazing lightning fabric I found at our local quilt shop. I was hooked, I needed it, I had to get it, and I had no idea what I wanted to do with it.
After a little playing around I came up with a wall hanging I like to call Racing the Storm Home.
I created some half square triangles to mimic the lightning, and some log cabin blocks to represent home. I freehand drew a raven (the raven is our territorial bird and it's image and the birds themselves are EVERYWHERE!) and appliqued it in place. Once it was together I decided to hand quilt each individual lightning strike and did the pieced blocks by machine.
I took it into our local quilt shop and they liked it so much they have put it up on display for a few months. Yay!
Thanks for looking!
