I made a Rail Fence a long time ago without instructions and it turned out fine. I'd like to do another (after seeing this beauty) but I'd like to be refreshed on the measurements. I assume the strips are 2.5" but help me out from there, please.

Lovely quilt and so cheerful looking. It is sure to be a treasure for someone who may not have many treasures.

my quilt is, indeed, 2.5" strips. cut 4 fabrics WOF and sew in strata. press all seams to the same direction. cut into 8.5 subcuts. finished block size is 8". repeat for # of blocks needed. the pattern shows best if the two outside colors are darker and the inside are lighter. HTH

I am able to make a 60 x80 (approx) rail fence with 4 fabrics, each 1 yard? Can somebody confirm this? Thank you.

according to my EQ, 7 blocks x 10 blocks is 56x80" but requires 4 - 1 3/8 yd fabrics

the closest i could come with 4 1yd cuts is 56x72" 7x9 blocks, and EQ says those are 7/8 yd cuts
