Default Ranch House Quilt

This started out to be another bunk house quilt, but it got to be too big for a narrow bunk house bed. It is shown in the picture on a king size bed. It is big enough for the guest bed in the ranch house.

The focus fabric is that horse print in the center blocks. It is made using a quilt as you go technique. Blocks were quilted individually and then attached vertically to made columns. Then the columns were attached. The borders were also added QAYG. I had hoped to use up a lot of scraps on this one, and I did. But not enough to significantly reduce my supply of browns and other earth tones.

This quilt could be considered to be reversible. I have used a variety of brown fabrics on the reverse side of the blocks, and they are arranged in somewhat of a pattern.

This will be another donation to the Bible camp quilt auction unless someone in my family claims it first.

I would claim it! Beautiful quilt and love the string blocks. I like how it is arranged and with the black sashings. Would like to see the back too. Thanks for sharing.

It's a beauty. I like the way you've offset the blocks. My scrap bin is also overflowing wit earth tones.

I predict that someone in your family claims this handsome quilt. Thanks for adding the close-up.
