DH insisted on taking me to the large outdoor flea market on Saturday. I've been wanting to go for months but scheduling has been an issue. As we were walking around looking he pointed out some "old" sewing machines. While the thought and handicraft is great, my first concern was "were these machines still usable"? I bit my tongue and took photos with the owner's permission. If I ever have a sewing machine that reached it's end of life and was going to be nothing more than a paper weight, this idea is one to be considered.

What is your opinion?

I think it is cute! Not all old salvagable/usable machines will find their way to a new home so why not?

Hmmmmmmm , use to get old sewing machines here for $1.-3.00, not anymore.. maybe this is why. Hope they dont' do this to good workable machines.

Not cool, in my book. I SERIOUSLY doubt that only the machines past refurbishing are turned into garishly painted tractors.
