    Default Red Canoe

My beloved friend, who died a few years ago, had a red canoe that he dearly loved. His son and wife are having a baby and requested a quilt with a red canoe theme. Imagine my delight when I did a search on "red canoe" and came upon the perfect paper pieced block by Cyrille Zellweger, available for purchase on Craftsy. Here is the finished product- not perfect, but my friend would love it! Thank you for looking.

Great canoe quilt! It puts me in mind to a song we sang in rounds while canoeing and by the campfire....
    My paddle's keen and bright
    Flashing with silver
    Follow the wild goose flight
    Dip, dip and swing
Dip, dip and swing her back
    Flashing with silver
Swift as the wild goose flies
    Dip, dip and swing.

That's really cute and I love the canoe theme and why it was chosen.

Great quilt and I especially like that you put the block "crossed canoes" in the corners.

And there was the pattern just waiting for your quilt, how serendipitous! Very nice memorial.

I love your little quilts and the recipients will love them. Sometimes we get lucky and find what we are looking for. Good job!

Great quilt, and the sentiment and thought behind it made me a bit tearful. Good job!
