    Default Red Spiral Table Topper

I spent Mother's Day sewing ALL day and loved every minute. Made this table topper for the kitchen table. I thought it would be difficult, but it's easy. In the future, I would not use directional patterns, like stripes. I think florals and smaller prints work best. I borrowed the ruler from a friend cause I wasn't sure if I would like the technique. Now I love it, so I'll be buying the ruler. Still needs batting and backing. How would you quilt this topper? Suggestions would be appreciated.

When I did mine, I just Sid along the seam lines, which gave it a nice effect on the reverse side. That way I did Christmas fabric on one side and floral on reverse for summertime.

Oh how beautiful!!! And luck you are. You got to spend the whole day doing what you love!!!! Congratulations!! As for quilting it, I like Spartan Quilters idea. Also like the idea of getting a 2 for 1 out of it. Might have to give this a go!!

Very pretty. I really like the colors. I just made my first one. I used Christmas fabrics. It was easier than I thought too. I quilted mine SID and I stitched every long seam. I used monofilament thread (I think that is what it's called). I call it invisible thread. And I have a love/hate relationship with it. I love it because it's invisible and I hate it because it's invisible...lol.

YOu did an amazing job. I wouldn't quilt too busy on it, for it will destract you from the spiral effect. It only needs something simple for it's beautiful just like that.
