This is my 1st donated quilt for my daughters boyfriends Relay for life fundraiser. I worked very hard on a differnet top and got frustrated and went back to the good ole yellow brick road. Was hoping to raise a few hundred bucks to the relay team but they used it as a door prize-Talk about upset. This is only the 2nd quilt I had ever done with first being a panel top quilt for a new baby. Guess next time I will open my mouth and request it be a raffle item..Lesson learned the hard way.

Never knew labels went on back-OOPS

Quilting by a family friend..guess each flower was an individual one so took her a long time to do the flowers.

Great job on your donation quilt. Don't let a not so pleasant experience sour you on helping.

I won't just broke my heart that all that work and not to mention $ didn't really help the cause very much. Next time I will just state that I want it raffled and not a door prize. (or is that to bossy? ) :?

tsp.. you did a fantastic job on your quilt. I love the bright colors you used.
I am planning to start one tomorrow to donate to Relay for life too. I decided to do the 10 min block pattern by Suzanne McNeill. It is a fantastic pattern and goes together so quickly. The gal who asked me about making it said it will be a raffle one. They are planning to raffle it off on Facebook. I hope to get it done this week so I can give it to her at church on Mothers day.
Here is the link to the video for the pattern I am using.

I would be upset too, but don't let it stop your charitable side. Maybe get details next time.

You did an amazing job on the quilt!! I don't think there is any written rule that the label has to be on the back of the quilt. I don't see why you can't mention to them early enough that you are making a quilt and would like to have it raffled off. I think as long as you give them enough notice they should be able to accomodated you.

Thanks everyone..I was pretty upset about it..It will not stop me from doing another one. Actually have another quilt in mind with the same fabrics for a dear girl who just went thru extensive suregery to remove 1/2 her stomach, part of her kidney, part of her bowel all from cancer. Hopeing it will cheer her up a bit with the bright colors and just a touch of ribon's.
