Because its so old the blue dots could be permanent due to all the times it was exposed to heat. Your quilting has really enhanced the quilt. Looks great.

This is really pretty. A very nice design.
I have one my mom started. I finished the embroidery and am now hand quilting it. I think the dots will come out but it may take more than one washing.

I sleep under a quilt like that (stamped and then hand embroidered and hand quilted). It was made by my aunt over 30 years ago and has been machine washed a million times and the blue dots are still there. Yes, they still make blocks that you can hand embroider and they are done with a turquoise dye - so don't know if they are permanent or not.

This quilt is SO SOFT - and I absolutely love it knowing that my dear aunt made it by her own hands.

A beautiful gorgeous quilt. I would not use a toothbrush on it, if the blue dots don't wash out, then I would leave them in. Try soak it for about 5 minutes and only agitate for a few minutes, I wouldn't take any chance in ruining it. totally not worth it just to get out the dots.

I am cross stitching 2 different stamped quilts now and have finished one ready for someone with a long armed to quilt for me(king). Yes, when you wash them in cold water the blue dots will come out and you can dry the quily on delicate cycle in your dryer.

Some of the older ones will be hard to get the blue dots out. I have heard about a mixture using buttermilk that is supposed to work to get these out. I can't remember what the mixture is though. I have it written down somewhere in case I ever need it. If you need some help getting them out, I will look for those directions.
