I have the bird panel too and I didn't cut it apart before I sewed it. I made a wall hanging. I folded the panel so when I stitched the seam, no whit was showing on the front. The method is similar to the preprinted interfacing for Mondo bags, if that helps. After it was all sewn, I trimmed the seams so bulk was reduced. You could then press them opened if desired. I don't recall the manufacterer, but I can find out- 2 of my friends just bought the panel a couple of weeks ago.

Elizabeth Studio is the manufacterer of the bird panel. As I was searching the web, I saw a wildlife panel done the same way complete with tree that is really cool too!
