Not really quilting, just modifying a bag to make it custom. :-o We have several of the reusable bags that DH bought on sale 3/$1.00. I take a small piece of fabric and just slap it over the logo on the bag. That way it's custom and that way you won't get it mixed up with anyone else's bag. At 0.33 per bag, you sure can't make one for that price.

that is an awesome idea. I like your improved bag. You did a great job making a standard very personal. Where do you get the starter bags?

    These are Walgreen's bags.

Mine have flowery material and DH is a heavy equipment mechanic. I found the loader backhoe fabric recently at a not-so-local LQS.

As big as the patch is it could almost be a pocket instead--place for greeting cards, etc. that you might pick up and not want "lost". Clever

A pocket patch......fabulous. I am on my way to get my reusable bags out of the trunk of the car right now. Great ideas, love this forum more and more every day, thanks everyone.

Gosh ladies - thanks for the comments. I know of ladies who have made their own bags. But when the bags are .33 on sale, you can't beat that price. It's not quilting, but I'm glad I shared my idea with you!

The hardest part is to remember to bring them into the store! Can't seem to get that into my head. LOL

I made several bags years ago before it was the "right" thing to do, so I've learned to just get them to the car ASAP. I still acquire plenty of plastic to use in waste baskets
