Rhonda's Black and Red Dresden Kaleidoscope Wall Hanging
This is still in progress. I thought I'd show what I am working on now.
I make Dresden Kaleidoscopes and I decided to use one for a wall hanging. I love this black and white fabric and it makes such dramatic elegant looking DKs. Black and red is one of my favorite color combos also.
I machine stitched the DH onto a red background. then I took a pic of it and added it to my EQ program. then I designed the wall hanging in EQ so I could play with borders and decide what I wanted to do with this center square.
This is the EQ pic I started with

Here is the center in real fabrics. this is what I put a pic of into the EQ

Then to add the borders I made strip borders using my three colors
Sewed them onto the center square on two sides and trimmed. then added the other two sides and trimmed.

And this is where I am at now. I need to add borders now and then quilt it.
If you look back up at the EQ pic you'll see where I am going with the borders.
It will probably measure give or take around 24" square depending on the border sizes I use.

This is the fabric I used to fussy cut the Dresden Kaleidoscope
I am also going to use this as the backing fabric so people can see what the DK came from. It is actually more white than this pic shows.
