    Your quilt is beautiful. I did this about 6 years ago but I didn't want it so big so I didn't do the applique and kind of cut out that whole middle section. I did mine on a purple background. I was part of a group too but most others used a light background. I prefer the dark background as it makes the blocks really pop.
