Rodanthe Rainbow - Just need to figure out how to quilt it!

Any ideas would be appreciated! This quilt top started as a piecing project whilw on vacation in Rodanthe, NC, on my featherweight. The fabric is from a Walmart I visited while on another vacation in Utah. I'm thinking of straight lines to make diamonds, and then find a natural theme to fill the colors in like flames, leafs, etc. There will be no border, I don't see the need for it!

    Have fun!

What a gorgeous quilt! I don't see the need for borders either. I love those fabrics, can't believe you found them at WM. Lovely pattern too.

Awesome! I agree on no borders, but I wouldn't know how to quilt it either.

Pretty! Something to follow the colors in the diamond pattern would be nice...feathers, swirls, vines, etc. Be sure to post when done...it will be gorgeous I'm sure!

Love your quilt! It would be fun to quilt a different pattern within the diamond of each color...different kinds of feathers, flames in the red, leaves in the green...that kind of thing! It would really rock the great diamonds created with each color.

WOW!!!! If I could spell psyco-dellic , that is how I would describe this quilt. The bright colors are certainly eye popping!!!

I love it!!! What colors. I like your quilting idea about the natural shapes in the rectangles.

It is a variation on a zig zag quilt http://www.quiltingboard.com/links-r...s-t121842.html, where I increased the size of the colored rectangle. Then you can play with any variation putting the quilt together, and get different patterns like log cabin blocks do. I play with my designs on my ipad to check out how a quilt might look and give me general dimensions. This one came out a little bigger than planned, but that is okay by me!
