I know this would be a simple thing to create for an experienced quilter but since I'm not, I would love it if you would do a tutorial on this step. I'm a very visual person and I've been thinking about how to do it and I keep drawing blanks. Would you consider doing this?

PS: I'm not a fan of overall quilting either, just for the reasons you stated.
One other person (Kat) on Yahoo Quiltville did the red squares in the center of the string blocks. I just loved the look of them. She was so nice as to send the instructions out to those that wanted them. So I have the instructions. I will PM them to you and anyone else that would like them.
That will be wonderful. I look forward to getting them!

It is lovely. You're not slow, I haven't even started it yet! I did print it and have selected my scraps, can't wait to get it started. I love your addition of the little red square.
