Default Ross & Ashlee’s quilt

This quilt has been percolating for a while. Back in 2012 while we were taking care of a dear friend, we took a some supplies to her house and started this quilt. She enjoyed watching us work and helped us with layout and such. After she passed away, we packed the unfinished top away.

Our friends Ashlee and Ross have been on the quilt list for a LONG time. It seemed like every time they would get near the top of the list, something would happen or someone would have a baby. When we were straightening up the sewing room, our daughter saw the top and asked about it. We told her it needed to be finished and given to someone. She said “Why don’t we give it to Tia?” That’s what she calls Ashlee.

We had an awesome dyed piece of fabric to use for the back. We also had enough for the border and binding.

We’ve been working madly to get it finished, because we spend Christmas Eve at their house and wanted to give it to them. I was finishing the binding at about 4:00 and my wife walked into the sewing room and said, “Look outside!” So now the quilt is finished, but they won’t get it for a couple more days.

Thanks for looking.

Lovely quilt and great quilting too. And a nice story to go with it. Your back yard looks like mine in New England. Merry White Christmas!
