I am making that same pattern for my newest grandson; didn't think of piecing the blocks though - that is really creative. Beautiful - not just the quilt but the love you have for your friend. I'm sure she will love it and it will get many years of love and snuggles. Thanks for sharing.

It came out beautifully, and you can't even tell where you had to fix it. Great job!!!
