Sailboat quilt complete with wavy borders! :)

Here is another charity quilt ready for our Christmas give-away. I even put wavy borders on it! Not really. That is a problem I've got to work on.....

    But it's pretty. I like it.Name: sailboat quilt.JPG

Nice quilt! Sometimes you will get a wavy border no matter what you do. My last quilt I measured across the middle in several directions, eased where I needed to, used my walking foot and all was good until I spread it out on the floor after hand sewing the binding to the back. Yep, wavy border. I think I need to remove the binding and pull it tight as I sew it to the quilt to pull in the edge a little. Am I going to pick out the hand stitching and re-sew the the binding again? Nope, I figure with all that handling and re-sewing it will just get worse. Done is better than perfect!

I love your quilt. The fabrics are perfect for water and sky. And the border looks like it's wet! How fun. How nice of you to donate it.

Beautiful quilt. Border fabric is perfect as it looks like the quilt center is surrounded by bubbling water. Great job. Thanks for sharing.

Oh, I so love this...I keep thinking I will do a sailboat ship someday but never have. As for the way border, it only enhances the quilt whether it was an accident or on purpose. I sure would not change it.

Nice quilt. Don't worry about the waves. Goes along with the sailboats.

I love the quilt and I think the wavy borders look intentional. They go well with the theme of the quilt.

I think it looks like you made it wavy on purpose with the sale boats & water print, stick with that story
    It looks great.

That is so cute I am working on sail boat quilt I found in "Lap Quilting" by Georgia Bonesteel for great grand son in Texas, but mind is 3 across and 4 down smaller version. Going to put on a 4-5 in border and my sails r all white with colored boats, yellow, red, black, blue and green. Hoping to finish it this coming wk.
