This is beautiful; I've never seen this pattern before. It looks a little past my ability, but I love it.

Ohhh...Pretty!!! I love the pattern...you said you get 5 lined up and then quilt...are you doing QAYG? I'm just curious (as I struggle and wrestle with the huge queen that I'm quilting on my little machine  ) I can't wait to see more pics of yours when its done. Please post it again.

And have you appliqued something over the corners of the blue part on the stars?

Yes I did applique a yellow rose in the center of the blue stars. I had great difficulty meeting the centers of the stars so had to intovate, propogate and " make it work".
The pattern was not a friendly one. Had to work things through myself. Almost gave up several times. But we had that issue on the board of finishing UFO's and this one is from 1997. Front page of the McCalls magazine.
Thank you for your interest Sandpat

I found the pattern on the front of McCalls quilting mag. 1997... I fell in love with it and had such a hard time finding the fabrics required. I started the cutting in 1997 and started the pcing. but it was so difficult I put it in the ufo box. Well it is out and almost complete. Will machine quilt

That quilt is so beautiful. It's like the fabrics always wanted to be made that way, made apart but forever begging to be together, it's amazing in it's harmony.
