Love the minkee backing - lovely job - your quilting just really makes the quilts.

Beautiful quilts. I think your daughter had the right idea, love that first one. You have an eye for design. She's one smart cookie....came out with two quilts and some pillows. Before you know it, you'll be buying more fabric for curtains! ;-)

What a great idea to make coordinating quilts! I have never heard of Minkee but it looks so soft and cuddly for a backing. Hmmm, may have to check into it next shopping trip. Is it difficult to work with? Looks like a fleece or velvet type material..? Is it called minkee or something else? Sorry for so many questions, I am just really not familiar with it.

It looks like a cheerful and lovely quilt. One that makes a person smile. Good job!

I did not quilt it but the LA quilter said that it is not a problem to quilt on the frame. However, it is messy. Lot's of fuzzies so you have to de-lint your machine and your sewing room. When I sewed the binding on, the presser foot wants to slide off the fabric so I really focus on holding everything in line and sew more slowly. Despite all that, it is worth the trouble. It is soooooooo soft. With that said, it can be expensive - $16/yard at my LQS (60" wide) but I got it for half price so not so bad.
