Here are a few of the blocks that I have finished. I keep leaning toward the more earthy colors and am trying to incorporate more of the blues and purples. Have no idea what it will look like with the different colors, but I am planning to frame each block with a wood looking sashing. Any suggestions would be welcome.

    You are doing fine!
Don't worry about the purple/blue thing ... it will come in time ... if you just put one or the other at least once in each block, you might feel like it is more balanced.
That is just a suggestion, since I sew the colors I like and find myself in your place, leaning a certain way. About the only way I can break from that is to do a scrap quilt and throw everything at the wall.
The way you are progressing will make a beautiful quilt, and that brown wood border will be the most wonderful touch of nature.
