No one has posted a room for a while so I thought I would post mine. These photos were taken last year. I am always rearranging the contents but the layout stays the same.
    enjoy!

Do not be deceived! Here is my "before" photo that prompted me to get my act together! They say the state of your surroundings are indicators of a life in turmoil. I agree!

I am happy to say that for the "most" part, I keep the room picked up and orderly.

    sandy

I love the curtains you made for the tables. I think that I will do that. It hides all the plastic boxes etc etc. LOL

What a lovely space. You must enjoy working in it. The "after" picture is much nicer than the "before" :)

Yep! I have 2 shoe shelves under the sewing table that hold my thread boxes and bolts of Pellon interfacing and some of the smaller Sterlite 3-drawer storage. My larger Sterlite units are under the other table. I hate visual clutter and the curtains certainly help.

You can purchase large 25 yard rolls of velcro w/adhesive. I do sew 2 rows of stitching on the fabric to reinforce the sticky velcro attached to the curtains. The "sticky" does not adhere to the fabric. You will be amazed how you will want to use hook & loop for many other projects.

Is your cutting table a Kitchen island? and did you buy it or put one together?

Love your space. I like the little "paper dolls" quilt in the background too....at least I think it looks like those!
Thanks for the inspiration. I really needed that this morning. VERY NICE space!

In 2000 I remodeled my kitchen and bought this kitchen island on casters from a big box Lowe's type of store..it was Lowes or Home Depot ..I forget. Then I moved and thought that due to the height and casters and storage, it would make a perfect cutting table! my 24 x 36 cutting mat fits perfectly with some room to spare. I just love it! Check out Sears, Penneys, Lowes, etc for "kitchen islands". If you want to customize one, check out Canadel in the furniture stores. There are lots of portable kitchen islands on the market. Just do a "search".

Yes, those are the paper dolls from a few years back. My mom was in a nursing home and she always loved paper dolls. So, I made this wallhanging for her. I lost mom in late 2009 but I smile when I think of how she always loved paper dolls and how she shared her love of them with her girls and grand daughter. Betsy McCall comes to mind!

It looks like you quilt throughout your house! I like that...a constant quilt retreat! I like the outcome of your room! It looks like a fun place to be!

I am also a fabric rep by day. Lots' of those quilts are samples from previous fabric collections...now retired! Thanks for the great comments. "organization" is a challenge for me!
