Abby's MOm sent me this quilt for long arm quilting.
She gave me freedom to quilt how I pleased.
I tend to always look at a quilt and its parts...I look at the fabric choices and try to make my design from those elements. This quilt is scrappy but the borders were purposely chosen ..which are florals and the background is all white.
I chose my favorite leaves as a sashing and border pattern, a simple stipple in all the white areas. I put a single leaf in the palm of the bear paw.
This is a beautiful scrappy and her piecing is beautiful.
I quilted this on my INNOVA (long arm quilting machine). I do my designs free hand.no pantograph or computer quilting.
This quilt has warm and white batting.
The colors are actually more crisp..but the sun was creating harsh light and I couldnt get great photos this morning.
Thanke for looking.

What an excellent quilt! Scrappy but very harmonious. I've never seen a bear paw w/o sashing between the blocks. Creates an interesting secondary design. I love the balance of colors and the balance between the quilted leaves and stippling. Looks like it was all planned by one artist. Quilt is serene, lovely! So much visual interest for one block and two quilting designs.
