This is not applique...it is very simple piecing.

The name of this pattern is Cat City by Villa Rosa Designs....They have a new one out with a baby cat inbetween each adult cat. It is a very easy pattern to do. I saw one done in batiks at the LQS and it was gorgeous.

Love the way your quilting gave dimension to the cats. Awesome quilt!

This is great and you did a wonderful job with your ruler work. First time I used rulers I wasn't crazy about it either but with practice you become very proficient but it is time consuming. I still love the results and with ruler work you can branch out to other templates.

This patter can also be found in the book The Cats Meow by Janet Kime. Hers incorporates the baby cats as well. If you are a quilting cat lover this book is a must have IMHO. It has been around for decades. http://www.amazon.com/Cats-Meow-Purr.../dp/1564770613

Very interesting pattern. I wonder how it would look in fur prints?

I also have this pattern & will make it sooner now that I've seen one done. I think my pattern has just 1 cat in each block but I like this with the 2 cats in each block much better. I may alternate it. Thanks for pic. Also, the quilting is purrfect for this quilt.

I so like this patter of cats. It was one of my first quilts and hung in my office for 10 years. It is now so faded that I have tucked it away. I never thought of sun and lights on my quilt and the damage it could cause. But I still love those little kitties all in rows. Perhaps I'll make a new one. Thank you for the reminder of this sweet pattern.

Nice quilting. The felines just pop right up and purr.

That is really cute. I mostly make quilts for QFK and this would be a nice variation from their normal patterns. You did a great job on it.
