Okay so I will ask, is your die a half hexie and when you put it together you get the large size? What size is that BTW?

No, it is a hexie die. The reason you don't have y seams is because you put this quilt together with the hexies and equilateral triangles. I believe there are some free patterns on the Accuquilt site if you have questions on how that works. Also, videos that help. I'll have to pull out the pictures of a scrappy Christmas quilt I made with the half hexie die and equilateral triangles and post those.
