Default Scrappy Colorwash Crumb Quilt

My bags of crumbs were overflowing so I figured it was time to do something with them besides a Wallhanging or pillow etc…so, I just started making crumb fabrics using each bag of color….When I though I had enough, I cut blocks from those and did a Colorwash layout. With the scraps of crumb fabrics, I cut 2” sashing and creating transitioning strips. I must have auditioned every color for a solid border and none looked right…decided to continue and extend the colors to the border. Kind of a neat effect, I think. Anywhooo…my husband thought this turned out cool saying, “I really like that” so I made a drawstring bag for the quilt and put it in his truck for emergency blanket. lol.. I was going to donate it but when Hubbie really likes a quilt, I keep it…. Picture of the fabrics created are included if you were curious…

Scrappy isn't usually for me, but this one is fantastic. What a great use of all the colors.

You are a better person than I. I can't save all those little pieces, because unlike you I would never use them. Kudos to you for turning them into a fabulous and colorful quilt! It makes me wish I was as industrious as you.

I like the way you did yours....thinking I should try something like that too. I made "My Monster Quilt" using scraps, but never touched my scrap string skinny pieces and used them the way you have. Oh, you've given me a winter incentive!!

Love it. It's always in my mind to dig into the scraps I have but I never do.
